My name is Jason Sica. I’m an assistant pastor at Faith Presbyterian Church in Wilmington, Delaware, and if you’re still reading at this point, let me tell you a little about myself. I’m from Wilmington, went to Geneva College, a small school in western Pennsylvania, and then attended graduate school at Covenant Seminary in Saint Louis, Missouri. I met Katie, the love of my life, in college and we’ve now been married for six years. We have two beautiful girls; Kylie and Naomi. Being from the Philadelphia area, I’m a rabid Philadelphia sports fan. I don’t know why I subject myself to such misery to be honest with you. Not to worry though. We’ll get em’ next year.

My blog is named provocations because I enjoy provoking conversation about faith, life, and culture. I’m passionate about leading communities where people feel safe to express doubts, ask honest questions, and pursue what it means to truly be human. My fundamental belief is that the epic story of God bringing redemption to the world in Jesus Christ is the ultimate conversation changer. This is the story of all stories, and therefore it has something relevant to say to every aspect of life – including faith, life, and culture. I couldn’t agree more with Dorothy Sayers who claimed that, “The Christian faith is the most exciting drama that ever staggered the imagination of man.” True freedom in life comes as we align ourselves more fully with God’s activity in this world. So join in the conversation wherever you find yourself in the journey – whether skeptical, curious, apathetic, disbelieving, or believing. The conversation is open to all.

The conversation continues…
